Good day everyone!

I have neglected this blog for far too long, and I do apologize.

As many of you know, the fall was busy for us with the packing, moving and trying to get settled. I realized I have too. Much. Stuff. Where does it all come from?

I have thrown things away, given things away and sold some items. As I look around, I still have a lot to deal with. Moving from a house with an attic and a basement into a one level made me realize just how much unnecessary stuff we have. I may have been better off just tossing the boxes that hadn’t been opened since our last move four years prior.

I now have a craft room, but it is full of totes and boxes of fabric, yarn and other supplies – with no room to work. I did set up my sewing machine so I can start using up the many boxes and totes of fabric I have. Now just to figure out what to make with it that is quick, and that many people could make use of.

On a sadder note, my mom was diagnosed with bone cancer in early November. Her health had been deteriorating for some time, and any tests that were done didn’t show anything wrong. After a move to a new facility and a change in doctors, it was discovered she had cancer. By the time the diagnosis was made, it had spread throughout her body. All that could be done was to keep her comfortable.

On December 5, she joined Dad in heaven. Although losing her is difficult, it was more difficult to watch her suffer. We were able to say our goodbyes, something we didn’t get to do when Dad passed away. Yesterday we gathered to celebrate her life, then laid her to rest beside Dad.

With that being said, a new chapter of my life has begun: one without Mom. I’m proud to say I inherited her love of writing, reading and being creative. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but she was my mom and I loved her and will miss her.

Thanks for listening, and being so patient with me.
